The Backwater Gamblers are once again back in the top three show ski teams in the nation!
 

Backwater Gamblers placed THIRD at the 2003 National Show Ski Championships. Backwater’s score of 1971 was just two points short of Mad-City’s second place score of 1973. The Rock Aqua Jays took first place with a score of 2079.

1st place finish in Highest Individual Club Act and 2nd place finishes in Showmanship, Tow Boat Driving and Barefooting. The club also successfully executed all of their pyramids including pulling 4 pre-fabricated pyramids off the dock.

The HIGHEST SCORING ACT of the whole tournament went to the Backwater Gambler’s world record setting eight man around the boat. Driver Brint Burrill set the record with skiers Adam Place, David Claver, Trista Menzer, Mark VanOsdel, Larry Anderson, Brian Dennison, David Anderson and Paul Becker. Skier Chris Ridgley was awarded the Willa Cook award for the most valuable female skier at the tournament.
